Garden elements: The Trellis

If you’re growing tomatoes, cucumbers or pole beans, you’re going to need a trellis. Garden Girls offers several kinds of trellises depending on the type of garden that we install.

The Arch

The Ivy Arch connecting two steel garden beds

The Arch is a beautiful way to connect two beds together, whether they are end to end or parallel. Not only does it give your tomatoes and cucumbers some really nice structure to climb, but you can hang lights on it and walk underneath! It becomes a portal to a little fairy land in your garden.

The Panel

Custom panels on custom steel beds

The panel is a straight, flat grid that comes in either 3’, 5’, or 7’ widths, or is custom-sized if you need. It’s a wonderful structure for beds that are up against a wall or fence or if the sun comes from only one direction for the garden. It’s perfect for tomatoes, cucumbers, pole beans or anything that climbs. The panel is also great for your plants that tend to get too big and flop over, like eggplant or lemon verbena.

Pyramids & Obelisks

Pyramids and obelisks are stand alone structures, almost like sculptures, that usually go in the middle of the bed, so there is a little space left all around them to plant. These are a wonderful option for single-bed gardens or those who want a more sculptural look to their garden.
