I’ve never gardened before. How do I know that I will be successful?

We TOTALLY get it!  It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed when you're new to gardening!  The benefit of working with Garden Girls means that you are in good hands from the very beginning.  We set you up for success by using only the best materials.  Ideal sunlight means that plants grow faster.  Raised beds make gardening more comfortable.  Great soil makes plants grow stronger.  Drip irrigation keeps your plants healthy!  We approach every garden project as if it were our own, because we want you to become a successful and confident gardener. Our goal is to provide you with a solid foundation so you can enjoy the rewarding experience of growing your own plants.

I’ve gardened a little but need more guidance.  Do you offer classes?

We sure do!  Even better, we offer one-on-one coaching visits so that you get the benefit of understanding your very own garden~ from soil to seed to success.  We offer coaching packages for our installation clients as well as seasonal workshops and events for everyone.  All of our installation clients receive a complimentary one on one coaching session four weeks after installation (that’s when the magic really starts to happen!).

What is a turnkey installation?  

We’re proud to offer the fairy godmother approach to setting up a new garden. We know that for a garden to really succeed, you need to begin with the proper design and installation.  Our crew has completed HUNDREDS of turnkey garden installations under our watchful eyes and will work efficiently to prepare your garden space.  

A typical turnkey garden includes: Grass removal, surface grading, application of weed fabric barrier, installation of extra thick premium edging and gravel base for proper drainage. Drip irrigation lines are tied in to existing irrigation systems, custom garden beds are expertly placed and leveled. Local sandy loam soil is delivered and installed, along with organic amendments. Our talented team plants seasonal vegetables, herbs and flowers based on your plant preference form, which is completed in advance.  Upon completion, you receive an in depth garden tour and resources to care for your garden.  

Most of our gardens are installed in as little as one to two days.  Larger projects may take a few days to one week to complete.  Rest assured, we always leave your space cleaner than we found it. 

How much will my garden cost?

This will depend on the size and scope of your garden project.  You can expect to spend around $6000 on a single turnkey garden. Just as you’d employ the services of an interior designer or premium home builder, the benefit of working with us is knowing that you will feel understood.  You’ll be taken care of.  You’ll know that we will see your vision to reality.  We appreciate that this is a big investment, but it will bring forth a hobby that will truly change your life.  

In addition, if you’ve never had the pleasure of shoveling three yards of gravel, try it once and you’ll understand why turnkey just makes sense.  We save you the hassle of sourcing, coordinating crews, back-breaking labor and divorce. 

Do you serve my area?

We are a Houston based company and serve clients that are generally located within the beltway.  We also have feet on the ground in Round Top and offer design and installation services there.  Larger scale projects, regardless of location, are subject to additional fees.  It’s best to touch base with us by email to find out if we are a good fit! 

I already have a garden.  Do you offer garden planting services?

If you previously installed with another company and need to replace your existing garden beds, please contact us.  Aside from that, we do not plant in garden beds that we have not installed.  Why?  Because our goal is to give our clients the absolute best from start to finish.  We cannot guarantee success when we don’t know the history of the gardens (i.e.: construction, soil quality, irrigation, etc.). 

Can I buy your trellises?

Our designer trellises are available exclusively to our installation clients.  We do occasionally host a pop up sale when they are made available to everyone (located in or around Houston).  Sign up for our newsletter to hear about upcoming sales and events!

What if I’m interested only in landscaping?

Fantastic! At the center of every landscaping project is a raised garden bed.  Let’s fill it with herbs, seasonal cut flowers, organic vegetables and build your landscaping dream around it. The joy of gardening is truly understood with a raised bed first and foremost! It’s the epicenter to every Garden Girl project and the one that will bring you the most happiness.  We love landscaping, but let’s enjoy tomatoes too!

I want to work with you!  What now?

You’ve had your consultation, received your proposal and rendering. If you’re as excited as we are, we invite you to submit your 50% deposit which will secure your installation date and allow us to begin fabrication on your custom garden bed(s).  We do all the hard work before installation day to ensure that things are on track for a smooth installation day!  Once your deposit is received, we’ll send over a plant preference form for you to complete.  Then just sit back, relax and tell all your friends that you’re about to become a legit gardener with Garden Girls! Warning: They’ll be jealous.

Do you provide maintenance? 

Installation clients have the opportunity to sign up for seasonal change outs three to four times per calendar year.  Included in the changeout:  Removal of old plants, addition / top off of sandy loam soil, addition of compost and amendments, installation of new vegetables, herbs and flowers. 

This garden refresh is a way for our clients to start fresh each season without worrying about the heavy lifting, back breaking labor of shoveling yards of soil and wondering what to plant.
