Cozy Greenhouses

Even though it may not seem like it, greenhouses and sheds have their place in Houston. Sheds are especially useful because they can house all your favorite tools, seeds, watering cans, fertilizers and so much more. It can be a lovely, dedicated space for your gardening accoutrement. Greenhouses and sheds are also a great place to tuck your potted plants in when a freeze is in the forecast. The shelter will keep them protected from the wind and frost and you won’t have to fill up your garage with plants.

What’s the difference?

Greenhouses usually have lots of windows, even on the ceiling because, in a greenhouse, we’re trying to keep the environment humid and warm while also letting in the natural light plants crave. Greenhouses are especially useful for tropical plants that love a warm, humid environment.

Sheds, on the other hand, do not usually have many windows and are better used for storing things like tools, extra bags of soil, watering cans, and your extra bottles of fertilizer. They’re also great to use as a nice place to pot up new plants. Have a look at some of the sheds and greenhouses we’ve installed for our clients.

A cute little white shed with a bright yellow door is cheery in any garden space and keeps your tools and gloves close-by when checking in on your garden.

A sunny greenhouse sits in the corner of this sun-dappled garden. A wonderfully warm and inviting outdoor room.

Melinda’s custom utilitarian shed hides away all her gardening equipment, hand tools, and rakes. It’s made more inviting with a window-box full of colorful flowers.
